Screenwriter and playwright
Born in 1992, Solveig Nuin Stephens is an English-Norwegian screenwriter and playwright. Having grown up in the UK, Northern Norway and Eastern Norway, she currently lives and writes in Oslo. Her work centres around the dual-heritage experience, societal development and how our histories shape us. Her preferred writing genres are drama, satirical comedy and science fiction.
Solveig Nuin is currently writing her debut feature film, produced by Skala - Storm Films, and co-written with the director Liv Barbosa Blad. In 2025-2026 she will be studying for an MA in Dramaturgy and Writing for Performance, a unique programme at the acclaimed Goldsmiths college, University of London.
In 2024, she completed her debut original play, "Evening, night, morning", developed with funding from The Norwegian Centre for New Playwriting (Dramatikkens hus). The same year she co-created the pilot for the original series "The Munch Heist" with co-writer Barbosa Blad, developed by Monster Scripted. She has experience working as a head writer from the development of the drama series adaprion "Nei og atter nei", commissioned by the Norwegian public broadcaster NRK and production company Bacon Pictures in 2023.
